HC Deb 04 April 1917 vol 92 c1287
38. Mr. WATT

asked the Minister of Munitions whether the women workers in the munition factories at Springburn, Glasgow, are paid as much as 3s. 6d. of a weekly bonus, while the men can only work up to 1s. 6d. a week of bonus; and, if so, will he say why this difference exists?

Mr. KELLAWAY (Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Munitions)

I have made inquiries into this matter, and find that it is not the case that in the factory referred to men can only work up to 1s. 6d. per week of bonus; operators receive bonuses of from 9s. to 22s. per week.
