HC Deb 03 May 1916 vol 82 c25
33. Mr. W. THORNE

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he has seen the report of a complaint made at Blyth about the quantities of potatoes and other foodstuffs carried away by foreign ships, the quantities purchased being out of proportion to requirements for the comparatively short sea voyages made by these ships; and if he intends making inquiries into the matter?

Mr. PRETYMAN

I have not seen the complaint to which the hon. Gentleman refers, but I am making inquiry of the Customs on the subject, and will communicate with him further on hearing from them.
