Mr. JOWETTasked the Prime Minister why the Press Bureau interfered to prevent the publication of Sir Frederick Milner's circular letter in September last dealing with the treatment of discharged soldiers by the War Office; and whether his attention has been drawn to Sir Frederick Milner's further communications on this subject?
Mr. SAMUELThe Prime Minister has asked me to reply to this question. I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply on the 19th October last to a question on this subject asked by the hon. Member for the Elland Division of the West Riding. I do not know of any later communication from Sir Frederick Milner.
