HC Deb 10 January 1916 vol 77 c1283
65. Sir J. D. REES

asked the Under-Secretary for War whether the Government proposes to take steps to organise a proper and national system for training wounded and discharged soldiers and sailors for such trades or occupations as may be suitable to their condition, and providing employment for them; and whether he is aware that local recruiting committees are prepared to give all the assistance in their power to carry out any such proposal?

Mr. TENNANT

I would refer the hon. Gentleman in the first place to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for the Attercliffe Division on the 2nd December. It will rest with the Statutory Committee to be set up under the Naval and Military War Pensions Act to lay proposals before the Government, and in formulating these they will, I am sure, consult all persons or bodies who could render any effective assistance.
