HC Deb 10 January 1916 vol 77 c1283
66. Colonel PEEL

asked whether, in the case of officers commissioned from the ranks, half their previous service, as laid down in Articles 44 and 45 (c), Royal Warrant, is counted towards the promotion which now occurs on the completion of six or fifteen years' service, to captain or major, respectively?

The answer is in the affirmative provided that the officer in each case is the senior of his rank.
