HC Deb 21 September 1915 vol 74 cc303-4
18. Mr. BOYTON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether his attention had been called to the alteration in the "London Gazette" of the method of announcing promotions and changes in several of the regiments, particularly in the case of the London Regiment, whereby no indication is given of the number or name of the battalion to which officers have been posted; and if he will see whether the old form can be restored?

Mr. TENNANT

Yes, Sir, I am aware that there has been a change. The old form of making these "Gazette" announcements was considered open to objections in present circumstances. I cannot hold out any hope that the old form will be restored.
