§ Mr. KINGI think we ought to have some explanation as to why this Standing Order is to be suspended. In my opinion nothing in connection with an Irish Divorce Bill ought to be set aside without some explanation to the House.
§ The DEPUTY-CHAIRMAN of WAYS and MEANS (Mr. MacLean)In this case the agent for the Bill, owing to an error, in not allowing for the fact that Sunday did not count in the clear days, omitted to give the necessary length of notice. There was no desire, on the part of the Chairman, or those responsible for the conduct of private business, to take advantage of a purely technical error of that kind, and this Motion was, therefore, put on the Paper.
