HC Deb 07 June 1915 vol 72 c68
19. Mr. JOYNSON-HICKS

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he can make any statement regarding the discovery at Hong Kong of plans, supported by the German Government, for the complete subversion of British trade in the Far East?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the COLONIES (Mr. Bonar Law)

I understand that reports to this effect are current in Hong Kong, and I have been in communication with the Governor. I think it would be better that I should not make any more definite statement at present.
