§ 57 and 58. Mr. JAMES HOPEasked the Under-Secretary of State for War (1) whether, seeing that married quartermasters have always been entitled to quarters, he will grant them an equivalent to the lodging, fuel, and light allowances now granted to officers serving with the Expeditionary Force when such quartermasters are on active service abroad, so that they may participate in what is in fact an increase of pay; and (2) whether he will consider the question of raising the pay of quartermasters who have been given lieutenants' commissions from 9s. a day to 10s. a day, to put them on an equality with the men now promoted from the ranks to second lieutenants?
