HC Deb 11 February 1915 vol 69 cc715-6
56. Mr. GOULDING

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether the personnel of the supply and transport departments of the Army Service Corps considerably exceeds that of an Army corps; and, if so, will he say whether the director and chief officers of the staff of supply and transport enjoy rank and emoluments commensurate with the magnitude of the forces under their control and equal to those of officers in corresponding positions in other branches of the Service?

Mr. BAKER

The Army Council are satisfied that the officers referred to are already adequately paid.

Mr. GOULDING

Can the hon. Gentleman state what is the total personnel of the very efficient Army Service Corps at the present time?

Mr. BAKER

I shall be glad to inform the hon. Member.
