HC Deb 04 February 1915 vol 69 cc149-50
100. EARL of RONALDSHAY

asked the Postmaster-General if Mr. G. W. Flood, of 24, Clovelly-road, Hornsey, at present employed in the telegraph service, has asked for permission to apply for a temporary commission in the Royal Engineers; whether such permission has been granted him; and, if so, whether his application has been forwarded to the War Office?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

So far as I am aware permission has not been refused to Mr. G. W. Flood to apply for a temporary commission in the Royal Engineers, and I understand that he has already made such an application to the War Office direct without reference to my Department, and that another application on his behalf has also been made through a Member of this House.
