HC Deb 27 April 1915 vol 71 cc553-4
26. Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

asked the Under-Secretary for War whether he is aware that only service rendered during mobilisation, or former service in the Regular Force or embodied Militia, counts for increase, of pay dependent on completion of a fixed period of service; that this Regulation bears hardly on men who have done previous service in the Territorial Force; and whether he can see his way to make such amendments as will allow of previous service in the Territorial Force counting towards obtaining the full pay of the rank, thus making the pay of the Territorial officer equivalent to that of the officer in the Regular Army?

Mr. BAKER

I am aware of the condition mentioned by the hon. Member. It is not considered that service in the Territorial Force before embodiment should be treated as equivalent to continuous service in the Regulars.
