HC Deb 21 April 1915 vol 71 cc261-2
43. Mr. CHARLES DUNCAN

asked the Secretary to the Treasury what, if any, arrangements are being made to secure the administration of medical benefit under the National Insurance Act in cases where panel practitioners have engaged themselves for military duties?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Acland)

In the circumstances referred to in the question the insurance committees have to be satisfied that as satisfactory arrangements as are possible, having regard to the heavy pressure on the medical profession, are made to provide for the continued discharge of the panel duties of absent doctors by means of locum-tenens or through their colleagues acting as deputies.
