HC Deb 15 September 1914 vol 66 cc861-2
49. Mr. EDWARD WOOD

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War if he is aware of the delay in notifying relatives of wounded officers and men of the nature of their wounds after they have been told they are wounded; and whether all possible efforts are being made to accelerate the news and so relieve the anxiety of relatives?

Mr. TENNANT

The difficulty of supplying information is due in large measure to the frequent shifting of the base, but inquiry will be made and every effort used to accelerate the news.
