HC Deb 15 September 1914 vol 66 c862
50. Mr. CHARLES CRAIG

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the fact that soldiers who are widowers will often have to pay someone to look after their children in their absence, he will consider the question of granting separation allowances to such children on a generous scale?

Mr. H. BAKER

The principle of giving larger allowances to motherless children has always been observed in Army Regulations, and will be observed in any alterations that may be made.
