§ 41. Mr. STEWARTasked the number of recruits obtained in each county of England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales since the declaration of war?
§ Mr. TENNANTI regret that the information asked for by the hon. Member is not available. The numbers are tabulated by recruiting areas, the boundaries of which, as a rule, do not coincide with county boundaries. Although I recognise that the results of the tabulation suggested would be interesting I do not think that the recruiting staff, the demands upon whose time and energies are very heavy, should be asked to embark upon the long and tedious task involved.
§ Mr. STEWARTThe right hon. Gentleman has the returns of recruiting areas already tabulated: would it be an inconvenience if I repeated the question to-morrow in that form?
§ Mr. TENNANTNo Sir, not at all.
§ Sir RYLAND ADKINSIs there any objection to the Territorial Associations getting returns of this kind through the local depots, and publishing them after-words as soon as they can?
§ Mr. TENNANTNo, Sir, I do not think there would be any objection to that.
