HC Deb 15 September 1914 vol 66 c872
Mr. GRANT

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for War if he will consider some relaxation of the tests for eyesight of recruits so that the wearing of glasses may not wholly debar men from joining His Majesty's Army?

Mr. TENNANT

This has been considered, but the Army Council have not seen their way so far to grant any relaxation. I do not wish this decision to be considered final.
