HC Deb 17 November 1914 vol 68 c327
50. Sir J. D. REES

asked the Postmaster-General what was the result of the trial of Focktenberger, or Falconer, for being in possession of wireless telegraphic apparatus, he being an employé of Messrs. Siemens and an unregistered alien?

Captain NORTON

I understand that a trial by court-martial is being held.

Sir J. D. REES

May I ask the hon. Gentleman whether he is not aware of that fact for a certainty, and whether this prosecution is being instituted and carried on by the Government?

Captain NORTON

I have stated that a trial by court-martial is being held.

Sir J. D. REES

May I ask if the hon. Gentleman did not say "I understand"?

Mr. SPEAKER

The hon. Gentleman is really taking a pedantic objection to the form of the answer. Unless the hon. Gentleman was on the court-martial himself, he would have to rely on the information supplied to him.
