HC Deb 17 November 1914 vol 68 cc328-9
15. Sir JOHN JARDINE

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has received a copy of a resolution passed by the members of a meeting of the Baptist church at Kelso, in the county of Roxburgh, deploring the evils resulting from the present system of sale of intoxicating drinks to the soldiers now being trained in the New Armies and to their families and dependants; and whether he can see his way to suggest more restriction or regulation of such sales?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

I have not received the particular resolution referred to, but I have received other representations. I am not at present in a position to make any statement in reply to the latter part of the question.
