HC Deb 17 November 1914 vol 68 c321
37. Mr. WHELER

asked whether any orders for fruit for the Army have been placed outside the United Kingdom; and, if so, with which countries?

Mr. BAKER

No such orders have been placed by the War Office, but it is understood that a certain quantity of dried fruit for the use of the Indian troops has been purchased in the South of France.

Mr. WHELER

Am I to understand that no order was given to California?

Mr. BAKER

I understand that no order has been given by the War Office.
