§ 49. Sir JOHN SPEARasked if the right hon. Gentleman contemplates any action to meet the wishes of agriculturists and traders for the establishment of a uniform system of weights and measures?
§ Mr. BURNSUnder Section 19 of the Weights and Measures Act, 1878, all contracts, bargains, sales or dealings involving weight or measure have to be made according to the Imperial weights or measures defined by that Act, and the use of local or customary measures is unlawful.
