HC Deb 21 April 1914 vol 61 cc751-2
51. Mr. BARNES

asked the Secretary of State for War if he is yet in a position to make any statement in respect to the wages of labourers in the department factories and depots?

55. Mr. CROOKS

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office when the rise of the minimum rates of wages in the various Departments under his control will come into operation and the increase that it gives to individual sections of employés in the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Baker)

It has been decided to raise the minimum wage for adult unskilled labour in the Ordnance factories and other War Department establishments in the London area by 1s. I hope to issue the necessary orders at an early date.
