HC Deb 06 April 1914 vol 60 cc1607-8
64. Sir J. D. REES

asked the Postmaster-General when he proposes to deal with these features of the Holt Report with which postal employés arc most dissatisfied?

68. Mr. OLIVER LOCKER-LAMPSON

asked whether his attention has been drawn to the dissatisfaction of postal servants with the changes made as a result of the Holt Report; and what steps he intends to take to meet and remove legitimate grievances?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

I have stated my intentions in a special number of the Post Office Circular, issued on the 3rd instant, and I propose also to present to this House very shortly a Paper showing in detail the revised scales of the various classes of Post Office servants. The hon. Member will observe from that Paper that certain points are reserved for further consideration.

Sir J. D. REES

Will these people have an opportunity of putting their case?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

They always have an opportunity of putting their case to the Postmaster-General.

Mr. O. LOCKER-LAMPSON

Will the right hon. Gentleman give the particulars before Easter or after?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

The circular was issued last Saturday. I hope to be able to issue the White Paper to which I have referred in a day or two—if possible, before Easter.
