HC Deb 06 April 1914 vol 60 c1608
69. Mr. AINSWORTH

asked the Chairman of Ways and Means whether he is aware that there is a difficulty in filling the places of Scottish Members selected to attend Parliamentary Committees sitting in Scotland, and that such vacancies have had to be filled from the extra Parliamentary Panel; and whether he will propose an Amendment of Standing Orders, increasing the number of Scottish Members on the Panel liable to serve in Scotland?

The CHAIRMAN of WAYS and MEANS (Mr. Whitley)

Yes, Sir. There has been some difficulty recently in obtaining Members to serve on the Committees in Scotland. I will take into early consideration the valuable suggestion which the hon. Member has made.
