§ 4. Mr. RONALD M'NEILLasked how many district inspectors of the Royal Irish Constabulary are still unretired although they have completed forty-one years' service and upwards; where they are stationed; and what special reasons exist for retaining these officers in the force after they have reached the age of retirement?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThere are four district inspectors at present serving in the Royal Irish Constabulary who have completed forty-one years' service. Three of them have not yet attained sixty years of age, and are therefore not eligible for retirement; and in the remaining case the officers' services are being retained in the public interest.
