HC Deb 19 June 1913 vol 54 c525
15. Mr. GLYN-JONES

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been directed to the absence of racks or any other facilities for holding hand luggage in the third-class compartments of the North London Railway on the Enfield branch; and whether he will take steps to induce the company to remove the inconvenience experienced by passengers in these crowded trains by the absence of such facilities?

Mr. ROBERTSON

A complaint was made to me in this matter a few months ago, and the railway company then informed me that they had decided to provide racks in their third-class carriages as they passed through the works. It was added that, owing to the bulk of the trains being in use for traffic, the work could only be done in this way.
