HC Deb 10 June 1913 vol 53 cc1407-8
10. Mr. WEIGALL

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that there is no open range available to the Huddersfield and Milnsbridge Territorial battalions on which musketry practice can be carried out; and whether any steps are being taken to provide range accommodation?

Mr. TENNANT

I am aware that at present there is no open range available. Steps, however, have been taken to acquire land at Deer Hill to provide a range, but the proceedings for compulsory purchase have taken a long time to complete. Possession of the land will be taken this month, and the construction of the range will be taken in hand at once.
