HC Deb 28 April 1913 vol 52 c779
10. Mr. LYELL

asked the hon. Member for St. George's-in-the-East, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he is now in a position to make an announcement as to the possibility of finding a more suitable position for the statues which are now in Westminster Hall?

Mr. WEDGWOOD BENN (Lord of the Treasury)

The First Commissioner has ascertained that the Corporation of the City of London would be glad to have the statues on loan in the Art Gallery of the Guildhall. Subject to the approval of hon. Members, my Noble Friend therefore proposes to lend them accordingly.
