§ 43. Mr. FREDERICK WHYTEasked whether the provisions of the Prisons (Scotland) Act, 1909, regarding the appointment of women members to the visiting committees for Scottish prisons, have been generally adopted; and, if so, how many women are now members of such committees?
Mr. McKINNON WOODThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. At present there are forty-two women members of visiting committees distributed over the nine prisons in Scotland where women are ordinraily imprisoned.
