HC Deb 25 November 1912 vol 44 c797
22. Mr. POINTER

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been drawn to the report of the trial of certain dock labourers at the Essex Autumn Assizes for riotous conduct at the time of the London dock dispute, all of the prisoners, with the exception of one, being sentenced to three months' hard labour; and whether he will examine the report of the trial and see whether, under the circumstances, there might be some mitigation of the sentences on these men, most of whom have wives and children dependent on them?

Mr. McKENNA

I am making inquiries about the cases, but the reports have not yet reached me.
