asked whether, in the event of the Government of Ireland Bill becoming law in substantially its present form, whether the Irish Parliament will have power to keep the small savings of the people in Ireland for use there by setting up a State savings bank?

The PRIME MINISTER

Yes, after the transfer of the Post Office and Trustee Savings Bank. In the meantime the existing banks will, no doubt, answer all purposes.

Mr. MOORE

May I ask the right hon. Gentleman if he is aware there is not even a Nationalist in Ireland who would trust the new Government with 10s. if it was his own?
