HC Deb 12 March 1912 vol 35 c954
Mr. BENTHAM

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture if he is aware that several small holders at West Butterwick, Lincolnshire, have received notice to leave their holdings on the 6th April; and whether any measures are being taken, either by his Department or the county council, to provide them with land in the neighbourhood?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative, notice having been given to the small holders in question in consequence of the sale of the property. The county council are endeavouring to acquire other land for them, and have received an offer of ninety-eight acres with vacant possession on Lady Day from the purchasers of the estate. This offer is now under the consideration of the council.
