HC Deb 04 June 1912 vol 39 c15
28. Sir J. D. REES

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has any information regarding a dispute between the Peninsular and Oriental Steamship Company and the Sailors' and Firemen's Union, or other body representing the employés on their ships, as to the proportion of white seamen which should be carried upon their ships?

The PRESIDENT Of the BOARD OF TRADE (Mr. Buxton)

I am aware that certain questions have been raised by the Seamen's Union with regard to the manning of vessels belonging to the Company named.
