HC Deb 25 July 1912 vol 41 cc1327-8
9. Mr. GUY WILSON

asked whether the Indian population of the Putumayo has been reduced from 50,00.0 to 8,000 in six years; and what further steps are being taken to prevent the destruction of this tribe, which at the same rate will be exterminated in twelve months?

Sir E. GREY

All the information that I have bearing on the first part of the question will be found on page 157 and at the top of page 159 of the Blue Book, though I cannot say more as to the accuracy of the figures than is said by Sir R. Casement. As regards the second part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to my reply last Tuesday to the hon. Member for Clare East.
