HC Deb 25 July 1912 vol 41 c1327
8. Sir GILBERT PARKER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has received information concerning the arrest of William John Downing, a British subject, by the Belgian authorities at Lukonzolwa; whether the case has been tried, and what was the result; and can he state the nature of the charge against William John Downing?

Sir E. GREY

I have not heard of any such case, but will make inquiries if the hon. Member will furnish me with any information which may have reached him on the subject.
