HC Deb 17 December 1912 vol 45 c1285
47. Mr. RUPERT GWYNNE

asked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been drawn to the fact that, under the Army Regulations, captains and subalterns in the Army are given an allowance of 15s. per night for the first seven days, and 10s. per night afterwards, when travelling on duty, whilst under the recent Regulations of the National Health Insurance Commission the newly-appointed divisional inspectors are allowed 20s. per night for the first fourteen nights and 13s. 4d. afterwards; and will he instruct the Treasury to see that officers in His Majesty's Army are given at least as generous treatment as divisional inspectors under the National Health Insurance Act?

Colonel SEELY

It appears that the hon. Member is not comparing like with like, and therefore no reason for adopting the proposals which he suggests can be adduced.
