§ 85. Mr. GRANTasked the Postmaster-General, if he will arrange that in future subscribers shall not be charged for the use of their telephones when using them for the dispatch of telegrams from their nearest post office?
§ The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Herbert Samuel)The question will be considered in connection with the general revision of telephone charges which I have promised to make when the purchase price of the National Telephone Company's system has been settled. I may say, however, that the subscriber is saved the trouble of taking or sending his telegram to the post office, and that it does not seem unreasonable that he should pay the ordinary charge for the additional service rendered to him.
