HC Deb 11 April 1912 vol 36 c1394
Mr. STANIER

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether experiments in foot-and-mouth disease in India are to be carried out by the Departmental Committee or by the Indian Government; and whether the authorities have taken into account the difficulties that may arise owing to the sacred character of the bovine animals?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of AGRICULTURE (Mr. Runciman)

It is proposed that the experiments should be conducted by a special Commission appointed for the purpose, the personnel of which I hope shortly to be in a position to announce. Consideration has been given by both Governments to all difficulties that could be foreseen.
