HC Deb 29 November 1911 vol 32 c393
Mr. NEWMAN

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether sales, assignments, and transfers of property are and have been taking place in Ireland subsequent to 30th April, 1909, without any attempt by the valuation authorities being made to ascertain the original total and site value of such properties, with a view to assessing or collecting any increment or Reversion Land Duty due on the occasion of such sale or assignment; and, if so, will he say what action he proposes to take?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

Every effort is being made by the Valuation Department to deal with these cases. More than two-thirds have been identified, and a large proportion are valued and the provisional valuations issued.
