HC Deb 29 November 1911 vol 32 cc392-3
Sir JOHN ROLLESTON

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether established clerks to surveyors of taxes are entitled to and receive the full period of sick leave allowable under the Order in Council of 10th January, 1910; and, if not, will he state the reason for the distinction in this matter between these clerks and other officers in the same department?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. McKinnon Wood)

The Order in Council referred to by the hon. Member lays down a maximum period for which sick leave may be granted with pay. The ordinary scales for allowance of this leave are fixed by the various departments concerned in communication with the Treasury, and are only departed from when the circumstances are special. The scale for clerks to surveyors of taxes is twenty-four days on full pay and twenty-four on half-pay, and this is considered adequate in all ordinary cases.
