HC Deb 29 November 1911 vol 32 cc408-9
Mr. KEIR HARDIE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the Advisory Committee of the Board of Trade has yet come to any conclusion regarding the rates of wages to be paid at Dowlais?

Mr. ROBERTSON

I am informed that the Report of the investigators who were deputed to make the inquiry to which my right hon. Friend referred, in answer to my hon. Friend's question on 13th November, will in a few days be laid before the Fair-Wages Advisory Committee.

Mr. KEIR HARDIE

May I ask whether the Board of Trade is aware this dispute was settled two months ago, but that, owing to the dilatory action of the Advisory Committee, the Government contract is still being withheld from the firm; and whether something cannot be done to accelerate their action?

Mr. ROBERTSON

If my hon. Friend will send me details they will be considered.

Mr. KEIR HARDIE

I have sent them scores of times.
