asked the total number of trade disputes in the United Kingdom, involving either the lock-out or strike of workmen, reported to the Board of Trade during the period from January, 1901, to the end of December, 1906, and from January, 1907, to date, respectively, with the total number of workmen involved for the two periods?

Mr. ROBERTSON

The number of disputes from January, 1901, to December, 1906, was 2,670, involving, directly and indirectly, 951,598 workpeople at the establishments affected. During the period of January, 1907, to the end of October, 1911, the corresponding figures were 2,660 and 1,972,562.
