HC Deb 16 November 1911 vol 31 cc519-20
Mr. KING

asked whether there has been a recent change in the office of Chief Inspector of Training Colleges; if so, who is the present occupant of the office; and what position is now occupied by the recent Chief Inspector of Training Colleges?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. J. A. Pease)

The Chief Inspector of Training Colleges has asked to be relieved by the Board of his duties in connection with training colleges in consequence of continued ill-health aggravated by the constant long-distance travelling necessitated by his work. He is at present giving valuable assistance in the Special Inquiries Office of the Board in various matters for which his experience and qualifications render him specially suitable. No decision has yet been reached as to the appointment of a successor.
