Mr. MacCALLUM SCOTTasked the Prime Minister whether he will, on an early day, afford an opportunity for the discussion of foreign affairs?
§ The PRIME MINISTERYes, as I stated on the first day of the Autumn sittings, the Government are not only ready but anxious to afford such an opportunity and that as early as possible. In view of the fact that the agreement in regard to Morocco primarily affects France and Germany we thought it right to suggest that the discussion here might well be preceded by the debates on the subject, which we understand to be imminent, in the Chambers of those two countries.
§ Mr. DAVID MASONMay I ask does he not think that it is in the public interest that an opportunity should be given to discuss the urgent question of occurrences in Tripoli?
§ The PRIME MINISTERThe Government is most anxious to give the House the fullest opportunity which is consistent with the general interests to discuss all those matters, and I should be guided very much in considering the precise date by any expression of opinion which reached me from various quarters of the House.
