HC Deb 01 May 1911 vol 25 c10
Mr. WILLIAM THORNE

asked whether all the male operators taken from the National Telephone Company will be placed on the unestablished staff of the Post, Office; and, if so, whether the fact has had any bearing on the policy of his Department in refusing establishment to the male operators at present employed at the Post Office?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

The male night operators taken over from the National Telephone Company will, in accordance with the terms of the Memorandum read in this House on 9th August, 1905, be subject to the conditions applying to the class of Post Office male night operators.
