HC Deb 01 May 1911 vol 25 c19
Mr. MULDOON

asked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been called to the fact that the decisions of the tribunals appointed to try Parliamentary Election Petitions are at variance on many important matters, and that some recent judgments have added to the confusion; and whether, in the amending legislation which he intends to introduce, he will consider the expediency of creating a permanent court consisting of one member from England, one from Ireland, and one from Scotland for the trial of such petitions, in order to secure that there shall be as far as possible uniformity of decision and impartial treatment of all parties and interests?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Asquith)

I must refer the hon. Gentleman to the answer which I gave on 24th April to a similar question by my hon. Friend the Member for East St. Pancras. I have nothing to add to that.
