HC Deb 15 March 1911 vol 22 c2246
Mr. KILBRIDE

asked the Chief Secretary whether he is aware that on the Latouche estate, at Inchaquin, Ballytor, county Kildare, there are several small uneconomic holdings; and whether it is proposed to increase these holdings and make them economic, or in what way do the Estates Commissioners propose to give these small holders at Inchaquin the benefits of the Land Purchase Act?

Mr. BIRRELL

This estate is the subject of direct sale proceedings under the Irish Land Act, 1903, and the Estates Commissioners propose to vest the small holdings in the tenants in accordance with their purchase agreemnts. There is no untenanted land on the estate, but if the Commissioners acquire any such land in the neighbourhood the circumstances of these tenants will be considered in its allotment.
