Mr. WORTHINGTON-EVANSasked what proportion the estimated expenditure out of moneys provided by Parliament in respect of the two-ninths of the benefits payable to men and one-fourth of the benefits payable to women and the administration of such benefits will bear to the total contributions payable by men and women earning over 2s. 6d. a day and their employers in each of the years 1912–13 to 1927–8?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGENo separate calculation has been made of the cost of benefits to be received by persons earning over 2s. 6d. a day, and I fear it would hardly be possible to make such a calculation.
Mr. WORTHINGTON-EVANSCan the right hon. Gentleman tell us what the proportion would be of all the men if there is difficulty in limiting it to those earning over half-a-crown a day?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEThe hon. Gentleman has asked me an actuarial question as a supplementary one. If he will put it down I will certainly give an answer if one is available.
