HC Deb 05 July 1911 vol 27 c1121
Mr. ASTOR

asked whether, under the provisions of the National Insurance Bill, a woman who, before marriage, was a member of an approved society, will be subject to rejection by the society on the ground of ill-health when, on her husband's death, she again becomes an employed person?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

A society would no more reject a woman in that position than any other person who, after being a member for a series of years imposes a liability on the funds of the society for disablement benefit.
