Resolution reported:—"That where the additional duty of Income Tax at the rate of sixpence is chargeable on the joint income of husband and wife a part of that duty proportionate to the wife's income may be assessed on and recovered from the wife."

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the House doth agree with the Committee in said Resolution."

I do not propose to press the Amendment of which I have given notice, as I understand am arrangement has been made not to prolong the proceedings. I accept the arrangement loyally.
